Fitness Pancakes

Can I eat whatever I want after my workout? Is there any post-workout recipe that is both nutritious and tasty? In this post are going to answer both these questions, since your post-workout meal not only is important for your recovery but it should be tasty too!
We did a remake of the old-fashioned Greek pancakes! Make this recipe to satisfy your need for dessert and properly refuel until your next workout! It is high in protein and low in fat, ideal for post-workout meal!

Fitness Pancakes

High in protein, low in dietary fats, ideal for post-workout meal!

Prepping time:  20min
Cooking time: 15min
Servings: 8-10
Cost : 0,50€ per serving
Calories: 143kcal per serving
Exercise equivalent: 12min per serving

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt 2%
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt 2%
  • 1 apple cut in slices
  • 1 tsp honey
  • cinnamon

 

Directions

  1. Mix the flour, baking powder, 1/2 cup of greek yogurt, olive oil and 1 pinch of salt in a bowl and knead well until a dough is formed.
  2. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes and open the dough with a dough roller.
  3. Cut with the help of a round dough cutter and bake the pancakes in a non-stick pan that you have already sprayed with a little bit of olive oil (or any other fat).
  4. Place the pancakes in layers, and serve them with yogurt, apple slices, cinnamon and honey.

Notes
  • Keep the non-stick pan on medium heat so that your pancakes will not burn.
  • If there is any flour left on your pancakes, shake them well before baking.
  • You may replace the apple with any fruit you want. In this way, adding "color" to your dish, will enhance it with various vitamins!
