Baked French Fries

French fries are our favorite food, and there are many chances that they are one of your favourite, too. Let's be honest, no one can resist their crispiness, when they have just come out of the pan.
Quite often, French fries are accompanied with the memories of our favourite grandmother's meals, reminding us of our lovely childhood.
We made this baked oven French fries recipe to make sure not only that they are healthier and crispier than the traditional  French fries, but also that there are no saturated fatty acids in this recipe! Read the whole recipe below, try it, and share your French fries with us! Scroll down to find out how!

Baked French Fries

No one can resist French Fries! Well, why should you resist in these healthy oven fries?

Prepping time:  5min
Cooking time: 60min
Servings: 3
Cost : 0,20€ per serving
Calories: 273kcal per serving
Exercise equivalent: 23min per serving

Ingredients

  • 3 medium (500 g) Potatoes
  • 6 (60ml) Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 (15 g) Tbsp vinegar
  • Salt, pepper & spices of your choice

Directions

  1. Peel the potatoes and put them in a saucepan with cold water. Bring to a boil and simmer for approximately 15 minutes. Your potatoes should be a little soft, but not to the point that they can be eaten as they are.
  2. Strain your potatoes and put them in cold water so that they cool. Then cut into the shape you desire (round or in sticks). Make sure the thickness is even and approximately about 1 cm.
  3. Put your potatoes in a stainless steel pan, add oil, spices, salt and vinegar and mix well. Make sure you place your potatoes sparsely in the pan so that they do not touch each other.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 Degrees in the air for 45-50΄ until your potatoes are crispy on all sides (you will have to turn them in half-time on the other side to achieve best results).

Notes
  • When boiling roots (potatoes, beets, etc.), make sure to put them in a pot of cold water and afterwards bring them to a boil. On the other hand, when we cook green vegetables, such as zucchini and broccoli, we put them directly in boiling water.
  • For this recipe, it is better not to use non-stick baking sheet, as the temperature of the pan that comes in direct contact with your potatoes will help them to become crispy.
