Ingredients

  • 8 g Dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp (7 g) sugar
  • ½ cup (80 g) water
  • 7 cups (500 g) all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp (20 g) olive oil
  • 2 cups (100 g) carrot puree
  • 1 tbsp (7 g) turmeric
  • 1 tbsp (7 g) salt
  • ½ cup (32 g) Sesame
  • 1 egg
  • 10-15 carrots
  • 2 tbsp (20 g) olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, turmeric

 

Directions

  1. Peel the carrots, grate it and chop them roughly. Mix them with a little olive oil, salt, pepper and turmeric. In a pan with oil paste, bake the carrots at 200 degrees Celsius on the heating elements for 40-50 'until they melt as you pinch them with the fork. When ready, beat in a blender until pureed.
  2. In a bowl, place the water, yeast and sugar and mix. Set aside for a few minutes to activate the yeast. Then add the flour and the carrot puree and knead the dough well. Add salt and olive oil at the end. Let the dough rise for at least 30 minutes in a warm place.
  3. Divide your dough into 5 round balls. Shape well so that they have the most uniform round shape. Place them in a pan with oil paste and let them rise for another 30 '.
  4. Brush your buns with the egg and toss the sesame seeds on top.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius, in the air for about 10 '.

Notes
  • You can put in your dough whatever spice you want to take off the delicious result. I would suggest rosemary, fresh thyme, oregano or even chopped basil.
  • If you wish, you can prepare a double portion of these buns, store them in the freezer and take them out when you have a BBQ day.
  • In order to activate the yeast, make sure that it does not come into direct contact with salt and olive oil at the beginning. Follow the steps exactly as described in this recipe here.
